Discovering God's Will by Andy Stanley

表姊借了這影碟給我幾年﹐但一直未看! 上次bookclub 看Andy Stanley 的Louder Than Words 終於記得﹐非常不好意思。今天午飯邊吃邊看﹐原來一直"走寶"。Andy Stanley 是在Georgia 的North Point Community Church 的牧師﹐講這個好重要的課題﹐生動有力﹐於時邊吃邊寫筆記...

1) Providential will of God
- Will take place no matter what, when God sent Jesus to die for us, it will happen whether you pray for it or against it. It doesn't depend on our faith or obedience, but God has used people to achieve His will (e.g. Mary as Jesus' mother).

2) Moral will of God
- His will according to Scritpure. His commands to us, what we should do, what we shouldn't do. We don't need to pray about this, we can find out from the Bible what His moral will is.

3) Personal will of God
- When we have to make decision, what do I do now?

God doesn't give us directions for consideration, but He asks for our participation.

The more familiar we are with the providential will of God, and the more obedient we are towards the moral will of God, the easier it is for us to discern the personal will of God for us.

God is willing to communicate to us His personal will for us, more often, it's our unwillingness to follow through on His will for us.
